Meta just released Muse Glimmer, a 30B open-weight AI model built to run local agents on a Mac or PC with a single GPU. Capable AI agents are moving from the cloud to personal computers.
As Meta released Muse Glimmer, Mark Zuckerberg called for fewer U.S. restrictions on open-source AI, warning that current limits on training data give foreign labs competitive advantages.
Meta dropped Muse Glimmer, a 30B agent model that runs locally on a single GPU. It plans multi-step tasks, calls tools, handles errors, retries, and continues until the job is done. Released under Apache 2.0.
Alibaba moved its new model into public beta featuring native 30-second video generation (up from 15s) and Omni Reference, which can read documents, spreadsheets, slides, and web pages to generate video.
Dyna Robotics dropped DYNA-2, the first robot foundation model pre-trained on 1M+ hours of egocentric human video (~170 years of experience) with zero robot data in pre-training. Manufacturing task success jumped from 20% to 80–90%.
New open-weight models gaining traction: Kimi K3 (2.8T multimodal, 1M context), Meta Muse Glimmer (lightweight agentic), DeepSeek V4 Pro & V4 Flash (reasoning/coding), and MiniMax H3 (omni-modal video with synchronized audio).
OpenAI’s next image model, codenamed mona-lisa-1, has been spotted in testing. Early comparisons show noticeably higher detail than the current GPT-Image 2.
